I can't understand, with my limited intellectual resources, the strategy of Sun regarding some hot topics of Java environment.
I know that javaFX, web apps and some visual projects are somewhat irresistible, like mermaid voices, but after all these years of complaining about the lack of presence of java in the desktop they still don't assign enough resources to create and promote a good application framework and related Form and Database handling libraries. That could make java desktop apps dominating the desktop a reality.
Most programs in many companies are not fancy image handlers or others eye-catching personal applications. Some people really works in that companies doing accounting, billing, inventory and so on. Not always the best way to do that is through a web application.

It seems that these projects, beansbinding and appframework, are some kind of personal, one-man projects, without too much support from Sun.

I would like to see some "official" comments about this situation.
